High-Precision Electric-Resistance-Welded Mechanical Steel Tubing
ASTM A513 is the standard specification for electric-resistance-welded (ERW) carbon and alloy steel tubing intended for use as mechanical tubing. Unlike pressure pipes, A513 is manufactured to much tighter outside diameter (OD), wall thickness, and straightness tolerances. It is produced from either hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel and is the preferred choice for applications requiring high aesthetic quality, close tolerances, and specific strength-to-weight ratios in the automotive, furniture, and agricultural industries.
